Healing complimentary treatments

These healing complimentary treatments can release emotional stress or anxiety and lead to improved comfort, ease and restful sleep

Emmett Technique

The Emmett Technique is a unique body therapy created by Ross Emmett.  Emmett uses light finger pressure at specific points on the body.

It is based on the belief that light touch can trigger a relaxation response in the soft tissue of the body. The relaxing nature of the technique results in people reporting typical responses such as:

  • Improved comfort and ease within the area treated i.e. back, abdomen, hips, legs, knees, feet, shoulders, arms, hands, and neck.
  • More restful sleep
  • Enhanced mood
  • A sense of lightness in the body

Many people find they feel more at ease within their body and their emotional wellbeing is enhanced.

Treatments may be done fully clothes although some garments may need to be loosened or removed. Treatment times vary according to requirements.

The Emmett Technique is not intended to replace medical advice or treatment. It is recommended you consult your own GP.

Access Bars

Access Bars is a gentle hands-on modality that was introduced by Gary Douglas in the early 1990s. The Bars® are 32 unique points on the head that correlate to different areas and aspects of life. During an Access Bars session, a practitioner gently touches these points to release the electromagnetic charge of all thoughts, ideas, attitudes, decisions, and beliefs that may have limited you in the concerned life areas.

In a world of increasing anxieties this modality is a gentle way to bring clarity and relieve your mind and body of the stress it holds onto. Having increased motivation, relief from anxiety, depression and other disorders are some of the benefits this relaxing treatment offers.

A session takes about an hour where you can relax, to find a sense of peace and calm, and discover what else is possible.

Usui Reiki

Much is written about the origins of Usui Reiki and over many years and it has been challenging to describe. The ‘best way’ is in following Mrs Takata’s lead “I can’t tell you, but I can show you”. Reiki is a gentle subtle energy that goes where the receiver needs it to go. One of the main themes of Reiki is that it is not up to the therapist to decide what healing is needed.

Karuna Reiki® was developed by William Lee Rand in the 1990’s. He is the president of the International Center for Reiki Training, The Center For Reiki Research, and The Reiki Membership Association. He also writes as editor in chief at Reiki News Magazine.

Karuna is a Sanskrit word and is used in Hinduism and Buddhism. It is translated to mean any action that is taken to diminish the suffering of others and could also be translated as “compassionate action.”

Reiki treatments are given with the person sitting or lying comfortably on a table, fully clothed. There may be music, depending on the patient’s preference. The practitioner places their hands lightly on or above areas of the body, this may be for a few minutes at each point. Reiki is a truly relaxing form of therapy, and during a treatment, often a person will feel sensations such as tingling, hot, cold or possibly fall sleep. They may also see colours or images, there is no ‘set’ outcome and each session will be different.

Remote treatments are not new to Reiki practitioners. This has been an integral part of the practice. A telephone consultation would take place before a session and one after.

Reiki is great for animals too!

light conversations

Words have meaning because we attach meaning to them. We use words to translate energy and we put these words together to communicate our stories, which we often repeat. This in turn locks in that energy, creating blocks to any solution or in moving forward in life. We find ourselves churning over and over in our minds, that hamster wheel of thoughts, the issues or problems which we have tied ourselves into unable to find answer or any way resolve issues.

Today, communication is mainly through texts, emails, and social media chats. Our interpretation of the words and ‘tone’ we perceive is being used in these exchanges often lead to misunderstandings and conflict. When you tell your ‘story’, the energy generated by the words you use presents itself giving me insight to the ‘true’ issue. Once this is realised and established, it enables changes to be made. Using varying techniques to alter or transmute the energy, can often bring answers, clarity, and stillness creating a better sense of well-being and balance to you or the situation.

I work intuitively, to listen and hear the ‘truth’ of your words and story. I can assist in changing the energy, bringing new insights, or perspectives. This in turn gives you the opportunity to have different choices where you may have thought there wasn’t any.

Regardless of where you are at in life, having a conversation will often relieve stress or bring a different realisation. Talking things over with someone outside your circle of friends or family allows you to find solutions they often cannot give. Although they have your best interest at heart, they will often say what you need or want to hear.

Talking is cathartic and can release intense emotional stress which enables you to benefit in many ways.

All consultations are completely confidential.

“We all need healing at different times in our lives. Sometimes we need healing for physical illness. At other times, we need to heal the traumas that we’ve suffered and find ways to release the difficulties of the past we carry in our bodies. We need release from the struggles and emotions brought about by our conflicts and the pain we experience from the follies of humanity. To heal we cannot reject our illness and grief or use anger and aversion to try and get rid of them. Instead, we have to bring a tender, healing energy to all that is sick or torn, what is broken or lost.”
